Install

The installer contains everything: the app, the verlet-agent service, and on Linux the verlet-probe profiler. No account, no server to set up.

PlatformPackageStatus
macOS, Apple silicon.dmgfirst preview
macOS, Intel.dmgafter testing
Linux, x86_64AppImage, .deb, .rpmafter testing
Windowsinstaller, portable .exeafter testing

Remote machines must be Linux x86_64 with glibc 2.17 or newer and about 500 MB free in your home directory. They need nothing installed; verlet puts its runtime there itself.

  1. Download the .dmg and open it.
  2. Drag verlet into Applications.
  3. Open verlet. Preview builds are not signed yet, so the first time macOS asks: open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
  • verlet-agent starts on 127.0.0.1:8080, or a free port if that one is taken.
  • Your computer is added as the local environment and scanned for engine executables: on the PATH, in ~/.local/bin and in the usual install prefixes. Each one found is run to read its version and packages.
  • The documentation index for the editor and the agent is built in the background. The app is usable straight away.

No engine on your computer? Use a remote machine, or let verlet build one.

The app checks for new versions and installs them when you quit. Remote machines get the matching runtime the next time verlet connects.

Delete the app. Your simulations, versions and run history are in the data folder; delete it too to remove them.
